There is absolutely no room for “thermal lag.” If those IR lamps aren’t screaming hot the second the preform hits the oven, you’re in trouble. You end up with pearlescence or walls that are way too thin in some spots and thick in others. It’s a headache nobody needs. That’s why we built these 400V Krones-style radiators. We wanted to kill that startup delay once and for all. The deal with 400V We went with 400V because it lets us cram more wattage into a smaller space. Think of it like pushing more energy into the quartz filament, and doing it faster. The result? The lamp hits its operating temperature almost instantly. You get a sharp heat curve, which is a lifesaver when your dwell time is measured in fractions of a second. It just works. Quartz and the nitty-gritty We used heavy-wall quartz for the envelope. Why? Because when things get this hot, cheap tubes bow. Ours stay straight. We also skipped the generic coatings. Most of those just act like insulation, blocking the heat. Instead, we used clear, high-transmittance quartz. It lets the short-wave IR radiation hit the PET preform without anything getting in the way. And the best part? They’re drop-in replacements. Just wire them into your 400V bus, slide them into your Krones-style brackets, and you’re good to go. A quick heads-up Here’s the thing: all that heat density comes with a trade-off. A 400V radiator puts a lot of stress on your oven housing. If your cooling fans are clogged or your airflow is acting up, you might overheat your electronics. Just double-check that your cooling system can handle the extra calories these fast-start tubes put out. But once that’s sorted? The “warm-up drift” you get with lower-voltage lamps disappears. You get the same consistent heat on bottle ten thousand as you did on bottle one.
