The “Perfect Fit” Problem Let’s be honest: the worst part of replacing a lamp is the fit. If a tube is off by just a millimeter, or the contact point is slightly shifted, it simply won’t seat. You end up fighting with it, trying to force it into the holder, and that’s how you get those nasty quartz stress fractures. We hate that. So, we build our tubes to match the original OEM dimensions exactly. You just slide them in. No modifying oven racks, no forcing, no stress. Getting the Heat Just Right Then there’s the power. We match the wattage and voltage of the SBO and Matrix series because the heating curve is everything. Go too high? You’ll burn the preform. Too low? The plastic never hits that glass transition temperature, and your bottles are ruined. We use high-purity quartz that can take the punch of rapid thermal cycling. Plus, we use specific coatings to tune the wavelength for PET. This helps the heat get deeper into the core of the preform rather than just scorching the surface. One quick tip: if you’re using higher power density lamps, keep an eye on your ventilation. Make sure your blow-off air is dialed in so you don’t overheat the lamp ends. No Electrical Nightmares We also kept the wiring simple. We use standard industrial connectors, so you can get them plugged in and moving quickly. No hunting for custom adapters. Since we mirror the Sidel electrical specs, your existing controllers and thyristors just work. You won’t have to mess with firmware updates or spend hours recalibrating the power ramp.
